As you can probably imagine, the team at Nelson Enviro loves to experience the joys that nature can provide. There’s just something special about experiencing natural wonders that nothing else can quite compare to, after all. You probably know us for offering Phase I Environmental Site Assessments in California, but did you also know that we like to get out and explore from time to time?

That’s why in today’s post we’ll be highlighting some of the world’s best natural wonders. Have we been to all of them? No, but you can bet that we’ll be adding them to our bucket list of places to visit! What will make the list? Keep reading to find out!

These Natural Places Will Leave You In Awe

Pulpit Rock in Norway

Preikestolen, which translates to pulpit rock in English, is truly a sight to behold, and according to Visit Norway, “The mountain plateau of about 25 x 25 metres was most probably shaped by the expansion of ice some 10,000 years ago [when] water that froze in the crevices in the mountain broke loose large edged blocks of stone that the ice glacier brought along on its course.” The pictures are sure to leave you eager to visit, but it’s got to be something else to see it in person!

Gorges du Verdon in France

Agreed on by many to be the best place for kayaking, hiking, rafting, and more, the Gorges du Verdon experience is one that has no rival. Beautiful World notes that it is “one of Europe’s most beautiful river canyons” and we’re inclined to agree! The views are about as picturesque as it gets, making for the perfect destination when you want to see some of the best sights on the planet.

Northern Lights in Fairbanks, Alaska

If you’re living in the United States then you might want to see something unique that’s a little bit closer to home. The good news is that all you have to do is make your way to Fairbanks, Alaska to experience the Aurora Borealis in person. If you’ve never seen it before, it’s quite the experience! Explore Fairbanks mentions that prime Aurora season is from August 21 to April 21. In other words, this is the perfect time to plan your trip to the “Aurora Oval” and enjoy “Fairbanks’ low precipitation and distance from coastal areas [that] contribute to consistently clear nights.”
