Wondering what we mean by that exactly? Keep reading to find out!
3 Superheroes Who Have Greatly Helped the Environment
Being a company who looks at ESA reports on a regular basis, you can bet that we’re interested in the environment. That’s why we’d like to take a look at three superheroes who made a difference in the way people think about the environment. Who will make the list? Let’s get started so you can see.
If you were a kid in the 90s, chances are that you remember Captain Planet and the Planeteers. Premiering in the early 1990s, the show brought to light a number of different environmental issues and signalled a change in the way people started approaching care for the environment. The titular character, Captain Planet, according to Wikipedia, “displays a wry sense of humor and often uses puns while taunting the show’s cast of villains [and] an impressive knowledge of science and engineering, recycling the villains’ pollution machines into something more useful, such as a planting machine or water filtration pump.”
With pollution as his only weakness, Captain Planet relies on the help of the Planeteers to assist in saving the day. A voice cast including the likes of Whoopi Goldberg, LeVar Burton, Louis Gossett Jr., Ed Asner, Jeff Goldblum, Meg Ryan, James Coburn, Martin Sheen, Sting, and more helped to make the show as popular as it was and set the idea of environmental conservation at the forefront of many children’s minds.
